Are you ready to join our amazing youth ministry team?

Our students need caring adults like YOU who love Christ and want to invest their lives into this young generation.

The following are the steps required to become a leader in our youth ministry:

Step 1: Read the Before You Join Our Team document. See document under Forms and Documents below.

Step 2: Read the Grace Youth Vision and Mission document. This document includes our vision and mission statements, as well as requirements and expectations for new team members. See document under Forms and Documents below.

Step 3: Ask yourself—what role would suit me best based on my gifts, talents, and abilities? You can be a small group leader, prayer warrior, event coordinator, Sunday School teacher—or perhaps there’s something we haven’t even thought of! If you’re not sure, just ask the youth pastor! 

Step 4: Complete an application. If you are seeking a role with regular direct contact with students, you will need to request and complete a formal application to join our team. If not, skip to Step 5! When you complete an application, you authorize Grace Evangelical Free Church to check personal references and to conduct a background check. Please be honest and thorough as you complete your application. We aren’t looking for perfect people, but we are looking for people who exhibit integrity and demonstrate a mature walk with Christ. Dishonest or incomplete answers may be grounds for an applicant’s dismissal. The information you provide on your application will be reviewed by the Youth Pastor and, when necessary, the Senior Pastor. Your application will be maintained in a secure location for the sake of confidentiality. The application can be found below in the Forms & Documents section of this page.

Step 5: Meet with the Youth Pastor. As the leader of the youth ministry team, this is his chance to get to know how God has been working in your life and why you want to work with students. He will go over the answers to your application with you, ask you a few questions, and ask you to share your testimony. This will also be your opportunity to ask any questions you have about our youth ministry.

Step 6: Welcome to the team! After going through these steps, a criminal background check will be conducted. If all goes well and we think you’re a good fit to join our team, the Youth Pastor will contact you to welcome you to the team! If concerns are raised regarding an applicant’s character or record during this process, additional interviews may be required with the youth pastor and/or Senior Pastor so that the applicant has a chance to clarify any issues that were raised.
